Rich Goode, Executive Director Financial Advisory Services -Sustainability; EY

Rich is an Executive Director in Ernst & Young LLP's United States Climate Change and Sustainability Services practice with experience in developing and implementing environmental, health, safety and sustainability (EHS&S) programs at large organizations as well as expertise in carbon accounting, supply chain sustainability and strategy development. Rich has over 25 years of experience working in the high technology, medical device and heavy manufacturing industries.  Rich has worked with several heavy manufacturing organizations, providing assistance on their EHS&S program controls and effectiveness during a time of serious budgetary pressure, helping the organization to reduce lost-time incidents. In addition, Rich has worked with companies in the agricultural, automotive, government and service industries to assess the effectiveness of their EHS&S programs and develop roadmaps designed to reduce risk and operate more cost-effectively.

 

Prior to EY, Rich held leadership positions with Alcatel-Lucent, a Paris-based supplier of telecommunications equipment. Rich worked in operations and product management with profit and loss responsibility and has extensive supply chain management responsibility. Under Rich's leadership, the company was also recognized as having a "Top 5" GHG Accounting program in the Environmental Tracking Global 800 Report. Rich teaches a course on greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and climate risk reduction strategies at Harvard University Extension School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

 

Rich had undergraduate degrees from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Nichols College. He also attended the executive program in sustainable management at Presidio Graduate School in San Francisco, California.
